WOAR News: Pia Toscano Lands Record Deal!!!

Well today’s news about Pia Toscano goes to show that the winner DOES NOT take it all.

The former makeup artist who (to much shock of judges and fans) didn’t make it to American Idol’s top 8 has landed a record deal with Interscope Records – the same label who has signed the likes of Lady Gaga, former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and OneRepublic.

According to a statement, Pia’s album is slated to arrive later this year. Singer-songwriter Ester Dean, who has written Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” and “What’s My Name” has also penned Pia’s first single. “This Time” will be released on July 12.

Pia is of Italian descent and says her musical influences are Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Etta James, and Luther Vandross.
